      Meh.

It struggled to get to a level that I could plane on my 7.5 all day.  The kites looked to get the best of the warming water and sunshine with a bunch of kites out from the park as well as the visitors center.  I arrived and parked next to Eric and Lisa from B’lo who had stayed the night at the Ramada to ride Seneca all day.  Eric got some kite time, but Lisa never got enough wind for her 6.2.

Art and I finally rigged with all the faith that we could make the wind happen if we just went for it.  Yeah, that didn’t work out.  I was on the water for nearly 2 hours after seeing Scott, Suan, and a couple other windsurfers from the park planing.  I managed to chase it and plane for maybe 5 minutes of that .  Saw Scott, Ken on his 9.5, and Suan on the water but an epic Fathers day session was not to be had.

Foils, flysurfers, custom kite boards abound on a beautiful day.  See my other post regarding future plans for big upgrade to the visitors center.

      Wd.

Also, I managed to get my first footage with my drone on Sunday.  It is fairly benign footage, as I was ultra cautious with keeping my distance from the kites.  I never really let the drone below 90ft, once dipping to 70ish when I knew I was upwind enough be safe.

Here’s a still of the rider I got the most footage out of, I’m not sure he even knew I was shooting him:
