Every windsports scene has their regulars and Rochester is no exception.  These are the guys that will probably be there when there is ice in the water, ice over the water, and when it is gusting to 50 mph.

Sailing Style:  Anything that keeps me dry.
Move I invented:  The 20 step jibe

Name: Bill Neis

Profession:  Avoiding work to windsurf.
Dream Profession:  Ken Jones Construction employee.
Dream Surf Mobile: The Ken Jones tax write-off surf mobile.
Fav Saying:  Anything that gets Ken ticked off.
Move I Invented: No handed wetsuit entry.
Claim To Fame:  Sailing at Canandaigua, driving to Seneca, back to Canandaigua, then to Seneca and sailing 30 minutes.

 

Name: Ken Jones

Profession:  Hammer Holder. Contractor.

Dream Profession:  Sprout Farmer.

Claim to fame:  Scored first goal ever for Fairport High Lacrosse.

2nd claim to fame:  I reffed hockey with Rick Griffin.

3rd claim to fame:  896 views and counting on Iwindsurf forum post.

Favorite sailing site:  Anywhere but SCUM POND.

 

 

Name:  Jim (aka: The King of Bail)  King

Profession:  Finding any way to skip out of work to sail.

Favorite Move:  Anything in excess of ten feet in the air.

Best Session:  80 degrees and a never ending wave (if it doesn’t end, then a tasty babe at the end of it all.

Wish list:  Just give me some big wind!

 

Name:  Gary Wolk

Gear:  World Sails, JP, Starboard

FYI:  I’m not the “Happy Pirate” , I repeat…I’m not “Gary the Happy Pirate”.

Claim to fame:  Master’s degree in “stackanomics/ gear organization”.

 

Name:  Joe Herbert

Nickname: “Shortboard Joe”  (given by Ken and Bill).

Claim to Fame:  Can rig up faster than Carl Lewis can run the 100 yd. dash.

Claim to Fame #2:  On a first name basis with Bruce and Dale at Sailworks.

Favorite saying:  “Wait, let me check my schedule….Yeah I’m free”.

Profession : Recently joined Lynn & Joe in the retiree's sailing club.
