Saturday was sunny and near 70 degrees at water’s edge on Durand Beach. The water warmed up nicely after the previous 3 days of heat and sun. A 3/2 wetsuit was plenty and bare feet felt great. Plenty of people swimming and cruising about in boats. Lisa and I arrived shortly after noon and rigged our foil board and a couple sails. What started out as 5.3m conditions quickly changed to 4.2m conditions. An hour later and it was back to 5.3m conditions. Small two-foot waves popped up and we were able to cruise down them on foil. I could hear a drone buzzing above me while on the waves. Hmmm…I wonder whose drone that could be? Lol. What a great feeling to be on the waves with a foil. Lisa has now completed 7 sessions on foil and I have completed 14. For those of you that are interested, I created a webpage to show the progress that an intermediate windsurfer can expect when learning to foil. Hope it is useful.  https://www.ericthebige.net/windsurf-foiling-progress.html

This was a great day for me to get back to the water.  As some of you guys were aware I had some heavy shoulder surgery this past winter, so being around the water with everybody was reassuring as I neared a return to the water.

I managed to shoot some pretty good video of Scott on foil with my drone, and managed a good pass or two of Eric and and Eric as well.

Stay tuned for an edit of that.  I am nearing completion of a patio installation at my house and will have more time.
