Any word on flotsam and jetsam in the water up by Geneva?

Went (or tried to) go paddling on Saturday and the damage near Lodi Point was extensive with a tremendous amount of material (some very large) in the water. The park has been commandeered by the State Police as a staging area for reconstruction of damaged roads and getting rid of trees, etc. At Willard, there was about 15 yards worth of wood floating up against the water’s edge.

Am not sure how far north the storm damage has flung material into the lake. Down further south there were cars, sheds, anything not permanently affixed to the ground out in the water. Some of this is likely to make its way to Geneva at some point, so there likely will be more obstacles in the water at some point (if not already).

A bunch of us sailed Seneca Lake at Geneva on Tuesday. There was a little debris in the water, but not much. A few sticks and a couple weed clumps, but that was about it. The sailing was pretty good. Most were on 3.7 and 85 liters.

I figured about as much, and was guessing same on the wind. Had I known enough about the local conditions, I’d have been on a 4.2 at Aurora…and my Freaks tend to be about 0.5 m less powerful  than most other sails. Hopefully the next big day I’ll be able to get there.

Isaac and I both did huge catapults the las two days at Seneca. I was going about 28mph according to my Apple Watch app and then nailed what looked like a thick plastic car bumper. No damage to me or my gear thank goodness!
