Pictures did not come out great in the above post. I had to do screen grabs of a really nice PDF he made.

Hi crew,
Mark R./Docheart held onto his excellent windsurfing gear for a few years after he took up kiteboarding and has now decided that he is ready to share his wealth with others. Mark is clearing out all of his gear and will surely sell it for a great price/prices.
I can personally say that Mark is one to treat his equipment well, and to…[Read more]

Hey Nugz!
Isaac has actually left the country and is hopefully sailing a lake in Switzerland with the legendary Balz Mueller.
The mast and extension are still available. I’ll e mail you at the above address and try to get you set up with it.

This was a great day for me to get back to the water. As some of you guys were aware I had some heavy shoulder surgery this past winter, so being around the water with everybody was reassuring as I neared a return to the water.
I managed to shoot some pretty good video of Scott on foil with my drone, and managed a good pass or two of Eric and…[Read more]

Wow Eric!
Very thorough launch site listing. Well thought out, described, and organized. Woodlawn will hopefully get a visit from me this summer.

If you ever get to the Angola area on Lake Erie you will find a few people who teach kiteboarding.

Those are all still available. Lake Erie water levels have been pretty high the last couple years so the launch at Hoak’s (Clock Tower) is a little sketchy, but if the wind is under 25mph it’s doable. Not much room for error though on the downwind side. There’s only a little beach you escape at if needed. Dozens of other locations to launch from.…[Read more]

Perfect equipment to learn and rapidly progress at kite foiling. Also, could be used for wakefoiling behind a boat, with the proper board. This includes the Slingshot Flight School trio of masts ( 15″, 24″ and 30″) for the graduated length method from taxiing up to riding on foil, and the full Hoverglide foil with 35″ mast, fuselage, base pl…[Read more]

Saturday was sunny and near 70 degrees at water’s edge on Durand Beach. The water warmed up nicely after the previous 3 days of heat and sun. A 3/2 wetsuit was plenty and bare feet felt great. Plenty of people swimming and cruising about in boats. Lisa and I arrived shortly after noon and rigged our foil board and a couple sails. What started out…[Read more]

Yeah, the parking lot is closed at Gallagher Beach for social distancing. We have been parking on the street, but it’s a little dangerous with the traffic zooming by. Be careful! You could park in the big lot on the other side of the park, but you would need wheels to transport your gear that far.

Hey Eric, thanks for the update. Glad to see Hamburg has their priorities in order. I heard it was an old law originated to keep the lower income minorities from Buffalo off their beaches. Anyway, how about Gallager Beach? Is that parking lot still roped off also?

Hey guys! I know that some of you come to Buffalo for WSW wind and like to ride at Hamburg Beach. Things have changed this year. The Town of Hamburg has now hired part-time security guards and have increased police presence to prevent non-residents from parking there. Non-residents must now be personally accompanied by a resident in order to…[Read more]

Geoff, Before I make a long drive I’m wondering how the parking situation was on the visitor center side of the lake given the holiday weekend and social distancing? Did they limit any parking? Thanks!

Complete Skunk-Job today. I talked with my buddy Stu in Pittsburgh, and it was a skunk there, too.
Chatting with Art while were were doing a Waiting for Godot routine, he wanted to know the URL for the Clark Point buoy in Seneca. If you didn’t know, this buoy (which is not yet in place for the season) is about 2 miles upwind of the Geneva sailing…[Read more]

I have an F2 Lightning that might suit your needs. Many of us think the mid-90s was the peak of performance longboard designs, with the F2, the Mistral Equipe II, and Fanatic MegaCat being best of the best. The Lightning was thought by many to be best in light winds, the Mega Cat and Equipe slightly better all-around. But the Lightning is an…[Read more]

Great to hear from you! I have not yet had a session at Geneva this season, but I am very much looking forward to it. It’s been a great season so far with March posting record warm temperatures. Unfortunately, April was no warmer than March, but it still produced lots of sessions on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. This weekend is showing some possible…[Read more]

So last weekend, there wasn’t any wind (grrr), which led us to a paddle around Howland Island on the Seneca River / NYS Barge Canal. Have done this route a few times before, but always in summer with the weeds and reeds really high. Very difficult paddle with weeds grabbing your canoe and paddle. Much better in spring, with very high water, no…[Read more]
